Embracing the Dawn of 2023

Hey there! So, it’s mid-February, and after a bit of a break from blogging, lots of naps, and some downtime, I’m finally ready to tackle 2023. It feels like I was suddenly thrown into this new year while I was still recovering from Christmas, dealing with COVID, bouts of illness, and then bam, it’s 2023.

I’ve taken a step back from social media because life has been throwing a lot at me. From family situations to ongoing health issues – I’ve been through a lot, including being hospitalized and catching COVID. My daughter had strep throat, and it all became too much and stressful. So, I’ve been focusing on recuperating before diving back into blogging and social media.

This year, I’m making some changes, which you’ll learn about later. But on the blog, I’ll still be focusing on beauty and makeup primarily, with a mix of lifestyle, fun fashion, and honest conversations.

The New Year is a great time to think about new habits and reflect on the past year. However, we shouldn’t feel pressured to reinvent ourselves every New Year’s Eve. It’s a personal journey, and I didn’t want to fake enthusiasm on social media this year. I’m taking a step back until I feel ready and in the right mindset.

Looking back at 2022, it wasn’t the best year for me. There are things I want to change to bring more happiness into my life. So, I’ve made a list of things I want to focus on in 2023 – call them resolutions if you like. I hope sharing these might inspire you to make your year brighter too.

First up, I’m planning to do more of some things, less of others, and adopt new healthy habits. Starting with a social media cleanse – it’s essential to curate what and who you follow for your mental health. If someone doesn’t respect your choices, it says more about them than you.

Setting boundaries is crucial in how others treat you and what you allow in your life. Learn to say no without feeling guilty and know your worth. Don’t settle for less, especially in work situations.

In the world of social media and influencers, competition can be fierce. It’s vital to stay true to yourself, avoid drama, and be selective about who you let into your circle.

Being kinder to yourself is a must. Stop blaming yourself for everything and focus on the positives. Control what you can, like your actions and reactions, and let go of what you can’t control, such as others’ opinions.

Success doesn’t have to mean rushing around frantically. This year, I’m aiming for a more relaxed approach, focusing on self-care, enjoying the little things, and taking time for myself.

Embracing healthy habits like hiking, taking supplements, improving sleep, and investing in personal growth are on my list. It’s all about making small changes that add up to a happier, healthier lifestyle.

Remember, it’s okay to take things slow, set boundaries, and prioritize your well-being. Here’s to a year of beauty reviews, makeup fun, style, and genuine living in 2023! Thanks for sticking with me on this journey.
